Our Programs
From educating our volunteers, to advocating in the community, our programs prepare and equip our teams to effectively communicate the Gospel, meet the needs of the unsheltered, engage the unchurched, and carry out the mission to bring people into relationship with Christ and off the street.
Educating
Eighty percent of CSC is composed of lay volunteers from various Christian traditions. Programs are offered that train brand new volunteers in basic etiquette and safety as well as programs that lead to ordination as a Chaplain if you are called to this vocation. There are opportunities to serve in many capacities and there is someone to mentor you all along the way!
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction (NKJV, Proverbs 1:7)."
Advocating
Today, life is cheap in North America. The homeless population continues to grow. They are harassed now more than ever. Society seems emboldened to judge the less fortunate without even hearing their stories. At CSC we train our volunteers how to advocate for the dignity and rights of the unsheltered in our communities. Further, we spend quality time with the disenfranchised. We care for their needs and build relationships that show them that they have value in the eyes of God.
"For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made (NKJV, Psalm 139:13-14)."
Reaching out
CSC volunteers are enabled, through the generous contributions of donors, to distribute Bibles, food, clothes, blankets, body warmers, water and other necessities that are too numerous to list. Many times relationships evolve that lead to prayers of salvation. That is step one of each new area we work on mission. We also provide pastoral counseling with a trained chaplain and operate a mobile church!
"And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me (NKJV, Matthew 25:40).’
